Charon is the largest satellite of the dwarf planet Pluto. It was discovered in 1978 at the United States Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station (NOFS). Following the 2005 discovery of two other natural satellites of Pluto (Nix and Hydra), in 2011, a fourth, S/2011 P 1, and on July 11, 2012, a fifth satellite S/2012 P 1,

Lt Commander Wilkinson was the first man to set foot on Charon in 2101.

Charon received its first Colonists and permanent base in 2119 and played an important role in the Battle of the Sol System during the Fourth Intergalactic War. The Loki Torpedo Batteries there helped in the repelling of the Kermac and Nogoll Forces. It took the Plutonians many centuries to get over the fact that Charon was unable to prevent the Kermac from bombarding Pluto.

Today Charon remains an important part of the Sol System Defense and is the HQ for UMBRELLA.

About 600,000 Citizens call Charon Home and are represented at the Assembly together with the other Pluto Moons by the Pluto Moon Association Representative.
