Battlegroup Commodore
With the rise and development of Union Battle Groups, (A Union unique military fleet division ) a new rank was needed to command a Battle group. By Assembly decission the recommended rank of Battle Group Commodore was made part of the Union military rank structure. (Pay Grade O-7 BTGC) There are usually 4 BGC to a fleet. In Fleet jargon the Battle Group Commodores are called by their BG color. I.e. : BGC Red, BGC Green, BGC Yellow and BGC Blue The Battle Group Commodore of the 5th fleets Green BG would be : BGC Green 5th (or Green 5)
