Bio Infestation team
Part of the Union Fire Department . TheBio Form and Bio Hygiene Division of the Union Fire Department responsible for creating, enforcing Union Hygiene laws
Bio Form classification and regulating Bio form trade fields a highly trained team of Bio Infestation Response specialists.
Usually called into action by Union Police , BoCa , Planet Reps to respond to a Bio Form Hazard situation
The individuals receive a special training at the Bio Form Control School at Venus Zoo and further schooling from the Science Corps .
Their job is to control all forms of harmful Bio Forms that have been introduced to an environment by accident or on purpose and pose a threat to said environment.
There are of course private Pest Control companies and services, but the BIT hasFederal Police authority and can obtain Union Court Orders to search a premise, to seize Bio forms and destroy Bio Form property.
Part of their authority is to issue citations, arrest offenders, issue Quarantine orders and order evacuations.
Bio Hazard and Bio Saefty is a big issue and taken very serious within the Union.
Becoming a member of BIT can be done via the 22 Month service commitment of a Union Citizen (BIT - Helper ) or by application.
The Bio Hygiene Division has a large research wing under joint auspice of Fire Department and Science Corps.
Since it is a Non military - Unit they are allowed to operate their own FTL space ships ,that are under the command of a Shipmaster rather than a Captain.
The largest job the BIT team perfomed was SIN 4 .
The Union Fleet has their own Bio Control and Hygiene Department but it trains and gets schooled by the same School.
Usually Class A and Class B spaceports have a BIT team on standby.
They are able to respond to mircoscopic infestations such as Virus and Bacteria infestationsas well as controlling large and very large Bio forms.
To assist them in their task they draw on a pool of highly specialized equipment that has been developed for and by them over the centuries in very effective tools.
