The chief communications officer (CCO) or public relations officer (PRO) is the head of communications, public relations, and/or public affairs in an organization. Typically, the CCO of a corporation reports to the chief executive officer (CEO ).

Union Fleet[]
A communications officer is a title given to a crewmember aboard a starship, and are charged with monitoring and managing incoming communications to a starship, and respond if necessary. Inside Union Fleet - the Communication officer (COMM) is also a trained linguist and has extensive First Contact training. The linguistic training extends to many non audio forms.
Communication Officers are also trained on all known communictation equipment and how to service and repair the on board communications equipment.
The COMM also ensures the correct recordinf abd archiving of all communications.
