Elkhart the First Keeper1

Elkhart the first Keeper

( Born on Earth 2131 - )

The story of Elkhart begins during the time of the Second Exodus. He was the Shipmaster of the Colony Ark Stockholm that reached the Planet Nilfeheim in 2160 Elkhart sympathized with the ideas and the philosophy of the “Viking Settlers” but he was not as firmly posed to technology as most of the others. (He was a successful graduate of the United Earth Space Academy and a fully trained navigator. He committed murder and during his trial and sentencing, he had the choice of either a death sentence or guiding a Colony Ark to its destination without the chance to return. When the Arks were dismantled the technophobes of the Viking Settlers demanded that any of the useful ship systems were to be stored away and only used if all colonists agreed. This was the beginning of the Halls of Hasvik. Elkhart became its first keeper along with twenty individuals consisting mostly of crew members of the Colony Arks. One of the individuals was a gifted Bio-Gen Engineer and used salvaged equipment of the Arks sickbay to extend the life span of the twenty individuals. The twenty build a secret society inside the Mountain Sutr. Elkhart survived all twenty. It is unclear why Elkhart's mind did not succumb to the usual problems human minds experience when the body aging process is suppressed beyond the 250 year mark. Elkhart remained the First Keeper and secretly survived until 5022. Elkhart is one of Eric Olafson's mentors and teachers and was one of the crucial factors in Eric Ultimate Decision. Elkhart succumbed to old age as his body was no longer able to keep up the rejuvenating cell cycle and he died peacefully, refusing any medical treatment. Elkhart's body was taken by the White Tyranno Fin Tyr to his final resting place inside one of the Tyranno's Sleep Mountains. Some scholars believe that Elkhart was part of the Cosmic Scheme to restore the RULE. Elkhart was a member of the Olafson Family line and a brother to Gustav Olafson (who's family eventually led to Eric Olafson)
