Official United Stars of the Galaxies Time is derrived from the Galactic or Cosmic Year.

For example Eric Olafson's Birthday is October 7th, 5012 and officially it is : 0107-9999.91

Meaning 0107 galactic Picto seconds of the 9999.91 Fractions of the Galactic Revolution.

While Computronics have no trouble keeping time this way, the average Union Citizen uses OST (Old Standard Terran).

Galactic YearEdit

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[1]Jump to: navigation, search[2]Panoramic image of the Milky Way, taken from Death ValleyThe galactic year, also known as a cosmic year, is the duration of time required for the Solar System to orbit once around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.[1] Estimates of the length of one orbit range from 225 to 250 million "terrestrial" years.[2]

The galactic year provides a conveniently usable unit for depicting cosmic and geological time periods together. By contrast, a "billion-year" scale does not allow for useful discrimination between geologic events, and a "million-year" scale requires some rather large numbers.[3]
