Military Occupational Specialty code (MOS code), is an five character alphanumeric code used in the United Stars Military to identify the type of job a Service Member performs. While each type of job has a unique code, if the exact same job is performed by members of different branches, the code for that job is the same between all branches. The first two characters indicate are a broad category, with the third serving to narrow it down somewhat. The fourth and fifth character are used to specify an individual MOS.
Each MOS has a range of Military Ranks, that applies to it.
