This article talks about the Trafalgar Class Battleships. For alternate definitions see Trafalgar.

The Trafalgar Class Battleships is a 3500m Union Battleship that has been in continuous production since 4708. It was initially built with an emphasis on Trade lane patrol, and as such is equipped with heavier weaponry than a comparable sized Union Battleship. The basic design has been continuously updated, with over a thousand changes since the first ship of the class, USS Trafalgar was commissioned in 4710. One update that has been included in about 79% is additional mine laying capacity.

History[]

The design of the Trafalgar class[1] started being worked on in 4700 with the first units being laid down in 4708 and commissioned in 4710. Over the history of its production, twenty-seven different shipyards have been used in the construction of the ships[2].

Notes[]

  1. The name was drawn from a hat containing over one thousand names of notable battles compiled in 3720 as part of the celebrations of 1500 years since the founding of the Union. Ironically, the names of the historians who compiled that list has since been lost.
  2. Most ships built outside the Ross 128 system are only partially complete when launched. At the Ross Torus, they are completed and any updates that had been made to the class since work was finished in a particular area are done at this time
