Bolivar Class – Explorer Ship of the United Stars Science Corps.
500 meter spherical hull with 12 Isah-Pods (ISAH POD/Landing Gear Combination). Extended range.

This purpose built Ship was completed at Ross Ship Yards by Barhust Inc.. (A division of SII Ships) in 4012. She first was attached to the 45th Fleet as a Fleet Science Support Vessel [1]
She was then transferred in 4014 as permanent detachment to the Science Corps. The Seneca begun her mission to catalog and survey “Wanderers” and Dark Objects in Union Space. As part of the Milky Way – Complete Survey Project. In 4998 Captain Nagfir ( Blue) took command of the ship and continued to catalog Dark Objects. On June 5018 she was attacked in Union Space near Dark Object 77439 ( Abandoned Kermac lab complex). The attack killed almost all of the crew ( 17 survivors) and wrecked the Seneca. As the details of the Attack were kept secret by Fleet and NAVINT Command Decision, the official explanation was the Seneca was lost due to a Navigational Error colliding with a Dark Object.[2] The USS Seneca was not repaired or restored but towed to a Bone Yard Planet where she remains until today.
[1] (Science Corps Vessels are by tradition first used by regular Union Fleet for shake down, and to earn the USS designation, as well as to train her first crew and officers. Only Union Fleet ships get service, maintenance and logistics from Fleet sources and the Sci Corps resources are not the same as the resources of the fleet)
[2] This led to the 5027 Fleet Scandal as Admiral Stahl demanded the Honor of Captain Nagfir and his Navigator to be restored and the truth of a Kermac Attack on an unarmed Science Vessel operating in Union Space to be made public.
